People you encounter are often suffering many types of losses, such as the loss of a dream, a relationship or a pregnancy. Many times, we offer words that seem to fall flat, are not helpful or may even be hurtful.

This training module will give you a deeper application of grief and loss with practical insight to help you best communicate comfort to others through a biblical approach.

Case studies and activities are included for retention with Christ-focused application of the concepts presented.

Tricia Lewis, Ph.D., Co-founder of Reproductive Loss Network

Tricia Lewis is a national and international grief care educator and co-founder of the Reproductive Loss Network. Tricia had the privilege to spend many years as an Executive Director for a pregnancy clinic in Northern California. She now provides grief education to individuals and groups, especially those in pregnancy help organizations. Tricia holds an M.A. in Human Services with a concentration in Trauma and Crisis and a Ph.D. in Psychology and Counseling.

Tricia is based in Nashville but loves to develop ongoing relationships with people wherever they may be. It is her joy to educate, equip, and encourage others to serve their communities in practical and compassionate ways.

Course Details

This training module will help in learning how to care well for the hurting by considering their grief timeline. Every individual grieves differently, and having a baseline of considerations can be helpful while you navigate the journey together. This one-hour course will outline compassionate ways to support individuals and their families. By demonstrating a presence of thoughtfulness and love, a well-planned care plan can bring the presence of Christ in a time most needed.

This module was developed exclusively with a Biblical approach to assist helpers to bring eternal hope and restoration to those who choose to heal. 

Activities are included for retention and practical application of the concepts presented.

Tanya Flores, Co-founder of Reproductive Loss Network

Tanya is a certified counselor with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC)  and Director of Client Services + Training at a medical pregnancy clinic outside Sacramento, CA. She leads a team of Reproductive Grief Care Advocates who provide care and support for men and women experiencing loss due to miscarriage, stillbirth, hysterectomy, infertility, and abortion. Tanya also serves as a biblical counselor at her local church. From her extensive years in training and advocacy, she is passionate about sharing her expertise through co-founding the Reproductive Loss Network. She is devoted to increasing awareness and care for reproductive grief throughout churches and community organizations.

Tanya loves to travel and build partnerships wherever possible. She believes everyone can be a Helper to those in need and welcomes opportunities to encourage others to share their stories and see God’s redemptive power in all things.
